I just got done listening to your "False Miracle" podcast and I really don't know what to say. I can't really think of a way to refute it. I am one of those Biblical literalists whom I am sure you guys hate with a passion. No matter how hard I try to rationalize this, It doesn't seem to make sense to me. My wife is an RN and even she says that people thousands of years ago used to think Epilepsy was caused by some form of supernatural possesion. I just never thought a book as perfect as the Bible would make such a claim. I am not trying to boost your already inflated (I'm sure) Atheist ego's but this really makes me think. One innaccurate claim isn't enough to invalidate the entire thing for me but it makes me want to learn more. Question

Thank you for taking the time to listen to our podcast with an open mind. We appreciate it.

Actually, we don't hate Biblical literalists. We simply wish to educate them and encourage critical thinking when it comes to the book they base their lives on.

Believe me, we know how you feel because we were Christians at one time too.

While we are glad this podcast got you to think, it is unfair to assume our ego's are inflated simply because we are atheists. For example, if I were to assume that all Christians were as prejudice as you, I think we would both agree that some Christians might think that was an unfair assessment of all followers of the faith.

Please do not equate critical thinking, reason, and intellectual honesty with arrogance. I'll agree that some atheists are arrogant pricks but the same goes for some Christians, Muslims, etc. Assholes of all shapes, sizes, and colors in the rainbow abound in this world. Don't clump us in with them and we won't clump you in with them. Smile

One innaccurate claim wasn't enough for me either when I was a Christian. But if you care to continue learning we strongly recommend Misquoting Jesus by Bart Ehrman. Click here:
